"Homeless, elderly and underprivileged individuals are hungry everyday," said Linda Harris, program director for Spoons of Hope. "We want to keep hunger awareness at the forefront year around." We want to treat those in need just like we treated our family during the holiday season, by serving them dinner and making them feel welcomed and loved," says Charles Jones, board chairman of 20/20 Vision CDC. "Spoons of Hope is a new program to 20/20 Vision, but not new to the community. The program has been in existence since 1987, and because of the growing needs of our homeless population, Spoons of Hope is at the forefront of our efforts to make a positive impact in our community."
"Our goal is to serve those in need with dignity and respect. We also invite all emergency responders to partake in this free meal as a sign of unity and support," Jones added. "This is our way of 'Bringing Hope to the Table' all twelve months of the year."
