Celebrate Texas Independence Day - March 3

All Texans and visitors are invited to Washington on the Brazos, the place "Where Texas Became Texas," It is the Texas Independence Day Celebration, presented by H-E-B. Learn where the passionate, independent Texas spirit originated when in March 2, 1836, 59 men bravely met in Washington, Texas to formally declare Texas' independence from Mexico.


It is a free, two-day living history experience featuring Texian frontier demos, nonstop entertainment including Texas A&M University Singing Cadets, food, crafts, games and more.


Start:  Saturday, March 3, 10:00 a.m.

End:  Sunday, March 4, 5:00 p.m.

Where:  On 293-acre Washington on the Brazos Historic Site, Washington, Texas, halfway between Houston and Austin.

  3. Independence Hall
